Thanks for your report.

I can't confirm your observations on my 16.10, so it may be some
upgrading issue after all.

Can you make sure that your 16.10 is complete by running these commands:

sudo apt update
sudo apt install ubuntu-desktop
sudo apt full-upgrade

Please let us know if the issues are present after having run those
commands (and rebooted).

Also, this is apparently not a documentation issue, so changing the
affected package.

Title:
no brightness slider in 16.10 on ASUS UX305 laptop

Status in unity-control-center package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
Just upgraded from 16.04 where brightness configuration could be done
either with the brightness slider in System Settings, or with function
  keys.

On this new release 16.10 (everything went right during upgrade) there
is no brightness slider and the function keys don't work.

Also when going in Sound Setting can't see neither the volume slider
between the two loudspeaker icons (just can hear a sound when clicking
between them but doesn't do anything while function keys working
  well).
