* New upstream release (LP: #1678205) -- Jeremy Bicha <[email protected]> Fri, 31 Mar 2017 10:59:05 -0400 ** Changed in: epiphany-browser (Ubuntu Yakkety) Status: Fix Committed => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to epiphany-browser in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1678205 Title: Update epiphany to 3.22.7 Status in epiphany-browser package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in epiphany-browser source package in Yakkety: Fix Released Bug description: Impact ------ Another bugfix release in the stable 3.22 series. It fixes a crash, some issues with the snapshot service (takes a mini screenshot of the page for the New Tab page), and some issues with recording browser history. https://git.gnome.org/browse/epiphany/tree/NEWS/?h=gnome-3-22 https://git.gnome.org/browse/epiphany/log/?h=gnome-3-22 Test Case --------- Browse to some websites. Do a Google search to make sure that text entry works. To test one fix from this update, visit https://www.terveystalo.com/ and click English. With 3.22.6, epiphany crashes. It shouldn't crash after the update. Regression Potential -------------------- Low. The 3.18.10 update introduced a regression where it was impossible to enter text on websites. 3.18 releases are basically only done now for Ubuntu 16.04 LTS's benefit so those get less testing. To mitigate that regression potential, I have subscribed to epiphany- browser bugs in Launchpad to know about possible regressions sooner. I now specifically test for entering text on websites. This update is for 3.22 though which is still in use by many distros, such as Debian stretch and the latest Fedora. So it's less likely than 3.18 to have that kind of major regression.
