Title:
  Optical output light stays on.

Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: pulseaudio

  1) Description: Ubuntu 10.10
  Release: 10.10

  2)pulseaudio:
    Installed: 1:0.9.22~0.9.21+stable-queue-32-g8478-0ubuntu21
    Candidate: 1:0.9.22~0.9.21+stable-queue-32-g8478-0ubuntu21
    Version table:
   *** 1:0.9.22~0.9.21+stable-queue-32-g8478-0ubuntu21 0
          500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/main amd64 Packages
          100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

  3) I expect that the optical output light on my headphone jack goes
off unless I choose digital output. It is a combo port, meaning both
the headphone jack and the digital output jack are in the same jack.

  4) The optical output light stays on. I cannot choose between digital
and analog in the sound preferences, it seems. The light only goes off
when I mute sound. Headphones work fine when I plug them in and
speakers work fine too when nothing is plugged in. But that annoying
(and dangerous to the eyes) optical light just stays on.
