Title:
[HDA-Intel - HDA NVidia] sound card recognized by alsa but not loaded
  by PulseAudio [10de:07fc]

Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
My sound card is properly seen by alsa (apparently) but not listed at
  all by pulseaudio.

I can successfully play sound through VLC if I reset the sink to use
alsa via that sound card's Front Speakers.
