Since the upstream 3.13 kernel the radeon.audio=1 kernel boot option has not been necessary. Instead, HDMI audio on ATI/AMD Radeon cards can be enabled and disabled on the fly by typing the following in a terminal window:
xrandr --output HDMI-0 --set audio on or xrandr --output HDMI-0 --set audio off If your HDMI port is numbered differently (type "xrandr" to check) - you might need to change HDMI-0 in the above command to HDMI-1 or HDMI-2. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to alsa-driver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1003752 Title: [System Product Name, ATI R6xx HDMI, Digital Out, HDMI] No sound at all Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: System Board and Processor: Asus 35M1-I Deluxe w/8Gb RAM, APM video, 3ware 9650SE-4E4I controller Description: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Release: 12.04 AMD-64 Xubuntu/XFCE Unable to hear audio through HDMI, works correctly via analog stereo output.
