Another side effect has recently started. Sometimes after leaving for a while with the screen locked, it will not properly unlock. Trying to wake the screen nothing will happens. In these instances, sometimes I can switch to the shell terminal <ctl-alt-F4> and "sudo service gdm stop" and then start.
Sometimes, the lock screen itself will crash and I will be left back at the open desktop. This is definitely not good, but has happened several times. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1726885 Title: gnome-control-center crashed with SIGSEGV in gdk_x11_device_manager_xi2_translate_event() Status in gnome-control-center package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Since upgrade from 17.04 to 17.10 I've been having issues with Display locking up or not returning from sleep.
