Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with Thunderbird.
You made this bug report in 2011 and there have been several versions of
Ubuntu and Thunderbird since then.
Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the
ticket?
Or, if it is still a problem, could you run the following (only once):
apport-collect 887888
and upload the updated logs and and any other logs that are relevant for
this particular issue.

Bug description:
Thunderbird Address Book Search Box freezes intermittently. It is
still possible to quit the address book while it is frozen by clicking
the red 'x' button, and it is possible to clear the search field by
clicking the 'x' symbol in the search field, but it is not possible
search until one closes it and re-opens it when this problem occurs.
Other functions of the address book seem to work.
