Title:
Evolution 3.6.4 bug can not send or recieve since BT Mail ONLY30913
Status in evolution package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I have been using Evolution 2.12.1 for a few months on Ubuntu 7.1
without any problems. Suddenly, after a few days of a suspiciously
empty inbox, I went to my server (imap.gmail.com) and found that
Evolution has stopped receiving mail from my gmail account.
When I press the Send/Receive button in Evolution, I get no error
messages. The Send/Receive message pops up like normal and has the
usual download bar. When the message says "complete" and closes,
there is no new mail in my inbox or any other Evolution folder. Also,
I found I can still send email from Evolution through my server
without any problems.
Prior to this problem, I did nothing out of the ordinary. I did not
change any mail/server preferences in either my gmail or Evolution
account. I did not change any internet or power preferences on my
computer.
Curious to see where the problem originated, I installed Thunderbird
and set Thunderbird up to send/receive mail from my server. I found
that I had absolutely no problems receiving email with Thunderbird,
including email I have received since. Therefore, I believe that the
problem lies with in the Evolution program itself.
Before I send a "Bug Report," I was curious as to what others in the
Ubuntu community think of this problem, and if anyone has any ideas
about what possibly has gone wrong.
