very buggy selection behavior

Bug description:
Binary package hint: evince
in any PDF document, selecting more than 1 line often causes very
strange selection behavior with different colors of selection and some
parts blanked out. Also, especially in mathematics documents,
selecting a character sometimes causes it to change to something else
(when selected, "-12"turns into "-∞∈".)
