Title:
new account not added to folder tree
Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
Binary package hint: thunderbird
Needed to add a new pop3 account to others I have used for years. The
account is created. That is the directories for the account are
properly created. More important, the folder for this account does
not get added to the folder tree. However, I can "Get email for" this
account from the menus. However, all incoming mail is directed to the
Local Folders inbox.
Tested on another machine, with a fresh Ubuntu 9.10 install+updates.
Did the same thing. Tried adding the thunderbird-gnome-support
package, and that seemed to work. However, creating the same email
account under a different Linux user failed to work. So this appears
to be intermittent and that it worked after adding the package was a
fluke. For me, about 10% success and 90% failed. My programming gut
instinct says uninitialized data or pointers.
Most likely this is unique to the 2.0.0.24 version used in Ubuntu.
Tried the same thing under Fedora 12, but that is 3.0.3 and account
creation is entirely different. But it does work there.
