Public bug reported:

I'd like to be able to link directly to GNOME Shell extensions from, for
example, a web page.

On Bionic running:

xdg-open appstream://ShellUtilites_obsidian.github.com

Does open GNOME Software but it gives an error "Failed to install: not
supported"

** Affects: gnome-software (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
