Yeah - I don't think we want UI, but if we're going to do different
things per-OS we might as well implement-via-hidden-pref than hardcode
the OS distinctions. There's plenty of precedent for that, e.g.
backspace-for-history.back being a hidden pref
(browser.backspace_action) that's different on Linux vs. elsewhere.

Bug description:
There are currently too many shortcuts when opening a link in a new
  tab:

   - location bar: <ALT> + <ENTER>
   - GO button: <CTRL> + click
   - search bar: <CTRL> + <ENTER>
   - SEARCH button <ALT> + click
   - links: <SHIFT> + click
   - menu bar: <CTRL> + click
   - BACKWARD/FORWARD button: <CTRL> + click

This is one of the reasons I'm keeping with Opera. There it is always
the shift key and I have to remember only one key.

  Thanks for reading!
