The bug is old and Ubuntu changed quite a lot since, there has also been
no activity here nor similar reports. Closing since we believe the issue
as described is deprecated but feel free to file a new report if you
still have problems in recent Ubuntu versions.

  No icons (files and launchers) on Desktop , no pop-up menu on right
  click

Bug description:
  Ubuntu 9.10 Alpha 1 up-to date

  After lasts updates icons (files and launchers) has disappeared and
  mouse right click wont work on desktop. Files and launchers exists in
  desktop folder and right click works in all other programs.
