and there have been many changes in Ubuntu and Firefox since that time.
Do you still see a problem related to the one that you reported using
currently supported versions of Firefox and Ubuntu? Please let us know
if you do otherwise this report can be left to expire in approximately
60 days time.

Title:
Cannot create new process for firefox
Status in firefox package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 9.04
Release: 9.04
firefox package version: 3.0.11+build2+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.9.04.1
When I try to open a new firefox instance, for instance if I want to
switch to another profile:
$ firefox -p -no-remote
... I expect firefox to open in a new instance and to open the profile
manager.
What happens instead is that some script or whatever shows a dialog
window (see attached image file) telling me firefox is already running
and not responding, which is partly a lie. It is running, but it is
indeed responsive -- I just want to open up a new instance. My use
case is misunderstood.
Removing the -p switch does not change anything.
