To reproduce the bug: 1. Make a search from GNOME Shell for file names. I have tested this with docs and pdfs mostly. 2. From the search results, click to open the results in Nautilus. Apparently, this will repeat the search in Nautilus.
No search results will be shown in Nautilus even though the files exist and were displayed as search results in GNOME Shell. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1819937 Title: "Files" will not open from GNOME Shell search results Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: 1. Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS 2. gnome-shell 3.28.3-0ubuntu0.18.04.4, nautilus 1:3.26.4-0~ubuntu18.04.4 3. I expect GNOME Shell search results for files open in Nautilus when the "Files" icon and "x more" is clicked. 4. Nautilus opens but reports that "No Results Found". If I deselect the search option in the just opened Nautilus window and redo the search directly from Nautilus, I get expected results.
