"File not found" on attempt to browse windows shares

Bug description:
On a freshly installed Ubuntu 14.04.1:
* Open Nautilus
* Choose "Browse Network" in the sidebar
* Double-click on "Windows Network"
Instead of displaying computers in the network, Nautilus
reproducibably displays the following error message (guessing a bit
because I am using the German version):
"Failed to retrieve share list from server: File or directory not
found"
This happens on both my Ubuntu laptop and desktop PC, every time.
