Aceman observed correctly, that without a faulty permissions.sqlite the observer never fires. Looking at the debug, it is is attached after the system has already fired the event. Whether it fires or not is irrelevant, it will always hang around on the first folder we encounter. It's only important that if folders are created before the UI initialisation, that we re-read the strings. That's what the patch does. Outch, but if the event never fires, then "names ready" will never return true, and the IMAP NewURI() will always suppress the folder stuff :-( - Grrrr.
