FYI, there is a GUI to control it: Just install the gnome-tweaks package. ** Package changed: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) => gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1870931 Title: Touchpad's right click function disabled by default and cannot be changed in Settings; I have to use the gsettings command Status in gnome-settings-daemon package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Randomly, after I boot the PC, suddenly the right-click option becomes disabled, and I am forced to run "gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.peripherals.touchpad click-method areas" to set it back.
