Public bug reported:
Bug occured on 20.04, but not on 18.04, when installing the texlive-full
metapackage.
The texlive-fonts-extra installs the font package "fonts-roboto-
unhinted". Unfortunately, this version of the font breaks font rendering
inside chrome--the roboto github release states that linux chrome
requires the hinted version of roboto. The most obvious way to produce
this bug is to look at the description of any item inside the Chrome
webstore, which uses roboto light font.
I ended up installing texlive using the installer script directly, but there
should probably be a fix for this (eg. possibly changes the dependency to
fonts-roboto-hinted if that is acceptable).
** Affects: texlive-base (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
