Title:
settings menu doesn't open and goes into the login menu

Status in gnome-control-center package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
When I try to open the settings button, it opens a black screen and
then goes back into the user login menu, closing all the apps that
  were opened prior to this.

Is there a way to fix this? I tried reinstalling the gnome-center, but
it doensn't work and no drivers missing.
