That apparent corruption is actually encoded information used by the
desktop-icons-ng extension. It's not pretty and ideally nobody should
see it.

  Corrupt title bar text on new folder dialog in desktop

Bug description:
  When you go to create a new folder on the desktop, the dialog box that
  asks you for the folder name has a corrupted title bar. It says "New
  Folder@!HTD" instead of "New Folder".

  This is occuring on Ubuntu 21.10
