Hmm actually the problem appears to be fixed in the new version in
Ubuntu 22.04 already.

When you go to create a new folder on the desktop, the dialog box that
asks you for the folder name has a corrupted title bar. It says "New
Folder@!HTD" instead of "New Folder".
This is occuring on Ubuntu 21.10
