Public bug reported:
Description: Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS
Release: 20.04
Ubuntu Software - 3.38.1
This is a new issue since recent updates to Ubuntu 20.04.
Today is Jan. 20, 2022
When trying to install a downloaded .deb file, I have tried several including
ones I installed previously that worked, ubuntu software gives this error
message - Failed to install file: not supported.
My test computer hasn't had the recent updates applied and Ubuntu software will
install .deb files.
This is obviously an issue with the recent updates.
** Affects: gnome-software (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
