https://github.com/OpenPrinting/system-config-printer/pull/247 As I understand it, this is the last dependency on python3-requests in the default desktop image: https://people.canonical.com/~ubuntu-archive/germinate- output/ubuntu.jammy/rdepends/requests/python3-requests so backporting this change would allow the removal of python3-requests (and probably python3-chardet and python3-idna) from the desktop image.
