Thanks for the bug report. "failed to enable link training" would probably be a kernel error logged by the graphics driver. So that may be a kernel/driver bug, or if you use an external monitor then maybe a cable problem.
Next time the problem happens please reboot as usual and then: 1. Run: journalctl -b-1 > prevboot.txt 2. Attach the resulting text file here. 3. Run: apport-collect 1965699 4. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run: ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug. 5. If step 4 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine. Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please send the links to us. ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1965699 Title: Whole desktop crashes after closing laptop lid about every 2 times.
