Bug description:
NVIDIA has requested that we default to Xorg on NVIDIA-only systems.
(@kenvandine was advised so)
One possible reason cited was:
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/-/issues/1317
but if anyone finds additional reasons then please add them here.
But good news: This is only for NVIDIA desktops. Hybrid laptops where
Intel/AMD is the primary GPU are unaffected and should default to
Wayland (after bug 1968929 is resolved).
