On Ubuntu 22.04, chromium is not available as a deb package, only as a
snap. The chromium-browser package is a simple wrapper for the snap. I'm
not sure what version you were running as a deb, but it's not one
supported by Ubuntu developers.

Title:
Snap chromium made unwanted comeback
Status in chromium-browser package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
Today suddenly the snap version of chromium made a comeback when I clicked a
link. I had deliberately removed it and installed chromium-browser from deb.
The deb version is still active on the system and was my default browser. But
today the snap version suddenly snapped the link instead of my selected default
browser. I do not wish to use anything snap because I have had very bad
experiences with them, even on 22.04. Weird errors that steal much time so I do
not want anything snap. Please!
I was expecting to have the link launch in my default browser
chromium-browser. I have removed the snap chromium with snap remove chromium so
it should not even have been on my system any more.
