Ok, that is fine. I understand that Ubuntu developers do not support the deb
version I installed. But is it necessary to allow this kind of poisonous
behavior by the snap version? If I remove the snap I should not have the thing
re-appearing uninvited to grab the default browser status. Should I? I do use
snap for a few applications that are not critical and seem to behave, like
Foliate and Spotify. I would like to like snap but for the time being it is
just too unstable, I really got burned by the snap Docker which creates all
sorts of subtle catastrophes.
So my alternatives are completely purging snap or switching distro?
So I am not asking you to support the deb I installed but to contain the bad
behavior of the snap Chromium that you do support.

Title:
  Snap chromium made unwanted comeback

Status in chromium-browser package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
Today suddenly the snap version of chromium made a comeback when I clicked a
link. I had deliberately removed it and installed chromium-browser from deb.
The deb version is still active on the system and was my default browser. But
today the snap version suddenly snapped the link instead of my selected default
browser. I do not wish to use anything snap because I have had very bad
experiences with them, even on 22.04. Weird errors that steal much time so I do
not want anything snap. Please!
I was expecting to have the link launch in my default browser
chromium-browser. I have removed the snap chromium with snap remove chromium so
it should not even have been on my system any more.

  which chromium
  /snap/bin/chromium
  Description: Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS
  Release: 22.04
Even your instructions like "The version of the package you are using, via
'apt-cache policy pkgname'" below do not work with these snaps.
  snap info chromium
  installed: 103.0.5060.134
