Thanks, this confirms other applications are affected as well. Following the other bug you linked, I can confirm that (at least) GNOME settings and the system monitor are affected as well. I wonder why 535 was the most recent driver offered by "Software & Updates -> Additional Drivers". Anyway, switching to the nvidia 550 driver seems to resolve this issue for me fully.
