Indeed I don't see any "crashes" here. But X11 fractional scaling can
cause problems. Please consider logging into a Wayland session instead
where fractional scaling is more reliable (and efficient).

Title:
Crash(?) when undocking with X11 fractional scaling

Status in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
There is a bug with the x11-randr-fractional-scaling component of the
xserver on my machine. I have an external monitor setup and when I
dock to the monitor it scales correctly to both displays, however if I
undock it is unable to rescale to the laptop display. Xserver crashes
completely and I have to trigger a hard reset. This error will persist
  even if I:

suspend system -> unplug monitor -> wake system

Disabling the fractional scaling and everything works well again.
Understand that this may not be a major problem, but would be nice to
get it seamless at some stage.

  Take care,
  Matt
