For the reasons explained in comment 26, I think this should be WONTFIX. As far as I can tell, this has already been working for a long time when sorted by "Received" (not "Order Received"). Only for unified folders, this was recently fixed in bug 1257826 (coming in Thunderbird 137, not yet in ESR 128).
