Title:
  there is no way to setup proxy settings with authentication like user
  name and password

Status in “gnome-control-center” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  1) Description:       Ubuntu 11.10
  Release:      11.10

  2) any version
  3) I Expect to be able to set a proxy server with authentication settings 
like user name and password
  4) Not possible

  How and why did this happen? It's a fundamental feature of an OS.
