I tried this and it doesn't work. It might be the issue that I am connecting to a Microsoft proxy server, but others, for example ntlmaps does work. So from my point of view as a user it still doesn't work and is not invalid.
Besides i think entering a password and username is highly unacceptable since this login information might be very sensitive, for example at a workplace. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/898312 Title: there is no way to setup proxy settings with authentication like user name and password Status in “gnome-control-center” package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: 1) Description: Ubuntu 11.10 Release: 11.10 2) any version 3) I Expect to be able to set a proxy server with authentication settings like user name and password 4) Not possible How and why did this happen?
