Title:
  dpms setting does not get overriden by screen

Status in “gnome-control-center” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  all options (including never) in screen for turning off the screen after more 
than 10 min don't work: the screen turns off after 10 min.
  this is because "the dpms setting which does not get overriden by anything 
for some reason - see "xset q" output"
