This is still occurring on Ubuntu 12.04 "Precise Pangolin" beta 1.

Packages: evince 3.3.90-0ubuntu2
          libpoppler19 0.18.4-1ubuntu1
          libcairo2 1.10.2-6.1ubuntu2

It works almost perfectly on Lucid with evince 2.30.3-0ubuntu1.3 and
libpoppler5 0.12.4-0ubuntu5.2 so we have a regression beginning in
Maverick and persisting into Precise.

Title:
  PDF Compositing error

Status in “poppler” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: evince

I have an error in Evince where a PDF created in Openoffice with OO
standard PDF settings has an problem with displaying Gradients. In
specific each of the text boxes has a gradient background which shows
as a single bar of each colour in the gradient at the top and bottom
of the text box. I have checked the PDF on a windows machine and the
PDF displays correctly so I know there are no problems with any of the
PDF files. I will attach a screen shot as soon as I can.
