Software Centre is now the GUI installation method for local .debs. Software Centre currently offers a download size, even though the .deb is local and does not require further downloading. 1. gnome-open skype_*.deb 2. Ubuntu Software Centre opens 3. Displays non-zero download size (20% bigger than the local .deb) Constrasting with bug #635015 shows that there's probably more issues that can be found from install the Skype package.
