Title:
Workspace switcher displays badly on dual monitors
Status in Unity:

Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
On Oneiric with Unity, when using dual monitors in different
orientations (Samsung 1440 x 900, one landscape, one portrait, ATI
Radeon graphics card), the workspace switcher fails to display
correctly:
Expected:
- Previews of the four workspaces visible on both monitors, ability to drag
and drop windows between the workspaces on either monitor
- Ability to select workspace with mouse on either monitor, and change to
that workspace with a double-click
Actual:
- On the left (landscape) screen the four workspace previews can be
interacted with only if the desktop area originating from the left screen in
each workspace preview is clicked. The portion of the desktop originating from
the right screen does not respond.
- On the right screen, the four workspace preview windows display with much
artifact above and below. The workspace previews cannot be selected nor
interacted with on this screen.
- It is impossible to drag windows from one workspace preview window to
another on either screen.
- Clicking on the top half of the bottom two workspace previews causes the
workspace above to be switched to despite the lower workspace showing the
'selected' orange rectangle around it.
(Installing the proprietary ATI linux drivers causes the second screen
to become a fixed mirror only with no option to extend the desktop
onto it, thus this is not an acceptable solution.)
