We have released beta version of Common Desktop Infrastructure under LGPL version3 license. http://www.smg.co.jp/opensource/CommonDesktopInfrastructure/
The programs are second version which presented as "Next-generation OSS Desktop Base Development Project" in DAM4. https://www.linux-foundation.org/images/8/8c/Dam4_oss_desktop_base.pdf The programs provide the functions which convert protocol of QtDBUS, UNO, and SOAP. So, you can call Qt program from UNO program vice versa. And, you can also call SOAP service from Qt or UNO program. The code generators which generate protocol conversion codes from IDL are included. So, you can use Common Desktop Infrastructure by only writing IDL. In short, you can seamlessly connect KDE4/Qt4, OpenOffice/UNO, and SOAP. We are going to enable cooperation of KDE4 and OpenOffice by using the script language (probably JavaScript) in this year. The architecture of Common Desktop Infrastructure is written in http://www.smg.co.jp/opensource/CommonDesktopInfrastructure/products/Archite cture%20Design%20Document.pdf You can redistribute it and/or modify it under the terms of the GNU Lesser General Public License version 3 as published by the Free Software Foundation. We want Portland project to include this infrastructure in the future version of DAPI. We want to also discuss about the specification of KDE/Qt, OpenOffice, and D-BUS, in order to realize perfect mutual conversion of the protocols. We are waiting for any questions, any opinions, and any proposals.
