FWIW, http://search.cpan.org/src/KCK/UI-Dialog-1.08/lib/UI/Dialog.pod is a perl-based front end for Zenity, XDialog, GDialog, KDialog, CDialog, and Whiptail.
So I'm not the first to notice there's a need for something like this. (Depending on Perl and CPAN isn't really an option for a xdg-dialog, though, I think.) And https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-patches/2006-October/003363.html is an example of makework caused by the lack of a unified dialog interface (in this case, they tried to support both zenity and xdialog, then ripped out the zenity support). _______________________________________________ Desktop_architects mailing list Desktop_architects@lists.linux-foundation.org https://lists.linux-foundation.org/mailman/listinfo/desktop_architects
