There is a still a lot of discussion and work to be done, beyond just X. Namely, as an application developer, what API do I use to access these cool 3D features?

talking with zack rusin about this, he noted that they've had a couple of recent X.org events and that most things have already been hashed out (/ to death) and that there is now a period of work ahead of them. his take on it was that while it would be cool to get together with other people around the OSS desktop stuff again, that there may not be a lot more ground to cover here at this point in time. we could try and keep X's "feet to the fire" so to speak by running this track, but perhaps there are other useful topics?
