Oh, yeah, this is something we have to figure out for KDE 4 and I strongly believe that we should have a small, dedicated KDE 4 hackfest with some usability people to figure out some of those things out. Whether that's something that should be shared between desktops is a whole differnet issue. We're not even sure which/what composition manager we're going to be using so at this point deciding what effects it will be providing is, in my opinion, an overkill.
