In general, I am +1 to the idea, but like others, I don't have much time right now to investigate each release so I was waiting until I got a chance to look at them.

I would argue that we could use a lower bar for these releases, i.e., we don't make any guarantees that they will work or do anything useful, we just treat them as a starting point.

However, the main issues that need to be verified are licensing etc, so the main thing I wanted to do if/when I find the time was verify that all resulting artifacts have the correct third-party copyrights and licenses mentioned in their NOTICE files.

I'm wondering if there is any interest in the commons releases I tried
to push out at all? So far, only Felix has responded.

I would say, that if there is no interest we can just drop the whole
thing from svn - however if there is interest it would be great to get
some feedback (even "negative"). As a minimum we should get the parent
pom out I think.

So every response is welcome except silence :)

Thanks
