so far MessageFormat isn't used, because there are just simple messages (one
argument at most).
currently there is a straightforward interface [1] for message resolving.

we could change it to:

public interface MessageResolver
{
    String getMessage(String key, Locale locale);
    String getMessage(String key, Locale locale, Object args[]);
}
