If I get lucky and pull a good revision of gecko + gaia, yes, it works for me. But the tree is extremely unstable right now, though, as you've observed. The desktop builds also tend to fatally assert after a few minutes, presumably because most of our testing is on opt builds on devices, where assertions are disabled.
