open graphic driver is cool, but if we could get an open radio it would

Yes, with open graphics/media driver we could make full images and distribute them freely.

What I was pointing out is that even a device with a blob-free kernel would still be running a significant amount of closed firmware in the radio modem (which is a huge security issue among other things).
