If the device is still stuck on the boot animation, and you can't reboot it; 
you will have to remove the battery and then try again.

In order to get to fastboot you should not need to hold the power button.  It 
should only be the vol up and down buttons.

It might boot if you clear the cache, using the system recovery option : power 
+ volume up on reboot.
select the clear cache option.  See if it boots…

Otherwise, it might be one of two other things.  If you are stuck at the boot 
animation and you are building yourself, then try doing a : make reset-gaia 
from the gaia directory of your local repo.

If those options fail, then you would have to try to get into fastboot and 
flash.

Having said that, in order for you to get back to factory, you would have to 
have the factory image.  I think there's an update of the 1.1 that you can 
download from the ZTE website, but I can't recall where.
