Hi,

Having a separate OS for radio is rather unfortunate, but it's not much
different from your regular Desktop PC. [1] And actually, there is a
free GSM implementation available. [2]

I like the idea of having a completely free OS stack running on the main
CPU. Currently some devices only have binary drivers for older versions
of Android, which complicates porting significantly.

The reverse-engineered driver in Linux 3.12 might not be feasible for
use with Android, because Linux uses the KSM interface by default, while
Android uses fbdev with a number of extensions, I think.

Best regards
Thomas
