I think this all wrong.  DUPLICATING the native layer in the Open Web only 
creates gigantic standardization efforts and poor user interfaces due to 
mismatching security and privacy models.

COMBINING these layers is a much faster, cheaper and expandable way keeping the 
Open Web "alive and kicking".  BTW, does the world at large really care that 
much about the Open Web?  I certainly do, but I doubt that this is universal.
