Is it possible or impossible to become totally independent from the current build system? From the files you listed I feel it is coupling with the build system. So I think if it's necessary to create such module, you may consider to add Ricky or other build system guys in. And also considering the current fact is TV project may also depends on the infrastructure you mentioned here, I feel it would reduce lots of communication problems if some TV experts could be owners as well.
