Great to hear, Gareth and company! I'm very excited that we have you guys dedicated to this problem!
Everything you mentioned in that blog post sounds good to me, especially making building and testing more approachable for web developers (I'm a web developer!). My question is around priorities, ie. what are you guys working on first? Two things I would like to vote for: - Building and running integration tests is extremely hard even for veteran developers right now[1], so I can't imagine how new contributors must feel. Part of the problem is we require version 10x of node with version 2.x of npm, which is non-standard bundle. What is the priority of making this easier for newbs vs. architecturing the build system with new tools like `confidant` and `exhibition`? Can we get to a place where we are confident integration tests work out of the box first? - To get gecko logs when running in VERBOSE mode you need to apply the patch from https://github.com/mozilla-b2g/gaia/pull/30760. What's to prevent us from just landing that now? 1.) https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/mozilla.dev.gaia/kBUjgBfTAG4 On Fri, Jul 17, 2015 at 4:24 PM, Gareth Aye <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi Everybody! > > We're spinning up a small Firefox OS Automation team to focus on improving > the way that we do builds and testing in gaia.
